Counselling & Psychotherapy in Carnforth, Kirkby Lonsdale & Beyond -
Face to Face, Online & Telephone
'Come as you are'
Welcome - I’m glad you’re here. Life can change in ways we never expected, leaving us feeling lost, uncertain, or disconnected from who we once were. Whether you’re navigating grief, loss, relationship changes, identity shifts, or a general sense that life isn’t how it used to be, counselling offers a safe and supportive space to explore what’s happening for you.
I offer flexible face-to-face, online and telephone counselling sessions during the week and at weekends, making it easier to find a time that suits you.
Online and telephone sessions can be a helpful option if you're based outside the UK, live outside the Carnforth, Kirkby Lonsdale and South Lakes area, or if travel or mobility are a consideration.
I provide face-to-face therapy in a peaceful, private setting on the outskirts of Carnforth / Kirkby Lonsdale which are available during evenings and weekends. Full location details will be shared when we arrange your first session.
Hello, I’m Cal Cowle, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist providing both short and long-term therapy to adults.
My path into counselling began with my own. After working through some painful chapters in my life, and doing a lot of honest, deep personal work, counselling became the start of a process of unbecoming everything I was not and gradually becoming the person I was truly meant to be.
That experience showed me just how powerful it can be to have a space where you're not judged, rushed, or expected to perform - just met with care and compassion. It’s what inspired me to become a therapist myself.
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, Counselling & Psychotherapy and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a member, I work in accordance with the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, which guides my commitment to safe, respectful, and professional practice.

I understand how important it is to feel heard and accepted for who you are. You don’t need fixing or telling what to do - sometimes, what helps most is simply having the space to be truly listened to.
My approach is person-centred, which means I’ll meet you where you are, with warmth and understanding. I’ll offer a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever feels important - safely, honestly, and at your own pace. Together, we can gently make sense of what’s happening and support the changes or insights that feel right for you.
This kind of therapy can be especially helpful when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or emotionally heavy.
When you’re given the right conditions: empathy, acceptance, and genuine presence - meaningful change can happen.
You may begin to understand yourself more deeply, feel more grounded in your choices, and reconnect with your own sense of worth.
I’ve worked with people facing a wide range of challenges - including anxiety, low self-worth, grief, identity issues, relationship difficulties, addiction and the feeling of just not being okay, even if everything looks fine on the outside. Whatever you’re carrying, you won’t have to face it alone.
Clients often tell me they value my calm presence, my openness, and the sense of ease they feel in our sessions. Whatever you're bringing, you’ll be met with kindness, honesty, and respect.

Autumn is a season of change and reflection, a time to let go of what no longer serves you and make space for rest and renewal.
Spend a little time outdoors if you can, notice the colours, breathe the cooler air, and allow yourself to feel grounded in the present moment. Even small pauses of stillness can bring calm and help you reconnect with yourself.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply wanting to get to know yourself more deeply, I’m here to walk alongside you - one conversation at a time. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. Just come as you are.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling and psychotherapy works, or to arrange an introductory call. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
All enquiries are usually answered within 48 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
